Excited

Well it has been a while since i updated, this is mostly because i keep forgetting my password. There isn't much to report at the moment mind you. I am really looking forward to going round to Karen's tomorrow to learn how to spin some yarn, it should be a really good day. I will take my camera and post some pics hopefully will be able to get some action shots of everyone doing their thing.

I have started my Christmas knitting, i am nearly finished one loop through scarf for Lewis's mum, i had originally been knitting it for my friend but i decided that the colourway was not really suited to her so i will make another in more appropriate colours. I am really liking the pattern so i won't mind knitting it again, i am also going to knit a pair of fingerless mittens for my friend and i have seen a nice pair in garter stitch that would match the scarf nicely.

Going to bed now, lots of spinning tomorrow!

Well, since Mhairi told me to i am updating my blog. I had a little difficulty getting into it mind you, i forgot which e-mail account i used and i also couldn't remember the password so i had to try and reset the account, it took ages, but i did it. I will try to update this regularly but i am a bit useless at that so it might not be regular.

Well i think the most exciting thing that has happened recently was the IKnit day down in London. Karen, Val, Mhairi and myself all travelled down for it and it was so worth it, we had a fabulous weekend. We got to see (and purchase) lots of lovely yarn, we also got to see a great talk by The Yarn Harlot, she was very amusing. We also got books signed by her after waiting in the worlds longest queue. As well as the IKnit day we also got to see a little of London, we got lost trying to find a Wagamama that was about 30feet away from where we started, we went to Liberty, we went out for a fabulous meal after the IKnit day with some of the girls form the Glasgow group and we went to the V&A and met some very nice knitters from Geneva. All in all it really was a super weekend but we were all exhausted and very subdued on the trip home, it was a bit non-stop.

Something else that happened recently was that we were evicted from the regular gathering place of our s&b group. We seemed to have received a couple of complaints and we were taking up a lot of space. We decided that we weren't wanted and we relocated to a local pub for last weeks get together. It was nice enough, there was enough space and plenty of light and a pub quiz to keep us entertained at our complete lack of general knowledge. However, the people at Flava(our regular haunt) have had a bit of a change of heart and have invited us back which is nice, i guess we are not as much of a radical and subversive group as we all thought.

Anyway that's all for now.

Okay now i have to work out a way to do all of this! Damn!

Christmas has landed.

Well, i didn't get the hat finished for Tuesday, it was Wednesday before i gave it to the woman at work. She didn't mind though, and she was delighted with it. It was for her niece and she was picking he up at the airport that night so my timing worked out well. The only problem is, that because i am doing such a good job ( yes, i am so modest) more people are wanting me to make things for them.

Oh no!

How on earth will i fit it all in. So far i have to make four hats and two scarves. I can get one knit this weekend. I am making it out of big wool tuft in a lovely chocolate brown shade. I hope it goes down well. I think at the moment i have taken on enough, i don't think i will take any more orders until i have completed the ones i have.

My own knitting has been taking a bit of a hit lately with all the things i have been making for other people. I have a lovely shrug in Noro Yoroi to complete, i am nearly finished it, just have to finish one more sleeve. I also have a jacket in Rowan Biggy Print to finish although i think it is going to get left to one side for a while. At the moment i am trying to knit up a wee cosy for my new tape measure. The girls at my stitch&bitch group went to the I Knit London event last week and brought me back a selection of goodies. I got a cute little Lantern Moon tape measure, some dye for this gorgeous cotton we received for winning the Simply Knitting group of the month and the best of all a signed copy of Son of a Stitch and Bitch. OK, that one was for my husband but i get to use it too, see how my plan worked out. Back to the cosy, didn't want him( my new tape measure to get dirty) so he gets his own special little pouch. I love my goodies, thanks to Karen for getting them for me. Here is a pic.

Isn't he cute.

Ah my little knitting blog is underway. I thought this might inspire me to finish some of the projects i have on the go. It's down to a reasonable number at the moment but i still need to get cracking. It seems that i have started up a business, well so some of the people at work seem to think. I wore a lovely hat i'd made and have now ended up making them for several people at work, it's a good thing it's an easy pattern. Hee hee. Actually i had better go get on with it, i said i'd have it for tomorrow, it seems unlikely, i think it may have to be Tuesday now.
