Excited much!

So whats happened recently. Well we did the race for life which was great fun and also raised alot of money for charity. See photo's stolen from Karen. I learned a new knitting technique for the race for life as we were knitting on our way round the course. I now love magic loop, i managed to complete a pair of socks in just over a week. But i think the best thing to happen to me all week is the fact that i was on Saturday Kitchen. There is a section of the show where viwers can call in and ask a question so i did and i got on. I was so excited! I have a clip that my sister took an her phone but i'm not sure i can post it.
Oh wait i did it! I am really chuffed with myself for doing it! They did spell my name wrong though, never mind!

Burial at sea

So bad news, Mr Hermie died. Mr Hermie is my pet hermit crab, incase you didn't know. Most of you probably didn't because he never did anything really worth telling people about, he mostly slept inside his shell. I am still a bit upset about it but such is the way with small pets. So, firstly Lewis suggested a viking funeral and i, for obvious reasons, said no, so we are going to give him a burial at sea as a compromise. I want to go to bed but our broken cat clock says it is 4.45(real time 10.10pm) so we are heading out to do it now, in the cold and dark.

Goodbye Mr Hermie.

Well not posted for a while so i thought i would give a wee update about what is happening in the world of kimmie. My current knitting project is a pair of sock for my extremely large footed husband. This picture illustrates the scale of this project.

I have a bit more of the foot done now but it is taking me ages and this is only sock number one! Doh!

A couple of weekends ago the weather was fabulous and my family were down so Lewis and i took a trip down to Largs to take out my wee brother and sisters. It was lovely weather so we got some chips and sat down at the beach. Here is a picture of Lewis, Catriona, Cara and Innes. I have also added in a wee pic of me and Cara squinting in the sun to prove what a nice day it was.

As it was still nice the next day Lewis and i took our bikes over to Dunoon. We cycled out to Ardyne Point where we sat on the beach and had a nice lunch. As we were out for nearly the whole day in the sun without any sunscreen we both got really nice sunburns. Lewis's was worse than mine but i still got laughed at! Here is a wee photo, i don't really do cycling shorts hence the skirt.

On a more depressing and less sunny note i am very stressed out with my S.V.Q. assessors qualification. I have just found out that with one month to go that i am going to have to change to a new student. This is a bit of a pain but it is doable. The only problem is that it stresses me out alot. Yesterday i had a little cry at work before getting a sore stomach which i still have today. This my way of letting stress out, i get a sore stomach! As i am going to be very stressed for the next month i will probably have a sore stomach for the next month or longer. This makes me sad! :) Although the promise of a day at Carrie's soon cheers me up! :)

I went to vist my friend Laura and her new baby girl Eden today. She is so beautiful. I can't believe how small she is. She was 7lbs 11ozs and she was born at 11am, so she was only 9 hours old when i met her.

Here is a photo of her lying sprawlled out on the bed.

Well i think it is time for a bit of a clear out. I know, i know, it is a bit early for spring cleaning but i really need to sort the clutter out in this house. I have decided that as part of this i will sell some of my precious stash. I don't really want to part with any of it but at the rate i knit i will have it for a very long time. I have decided that i will sell it in order to raise funds for a new drop spindle as i am suffering from major spindle envy. I have been looking at all of the pictures of lovely spindles on ravelry and have decided that i need one. I don't need anything too flashy just something nice and functional. I can't wait till i can start spinning up some of my lovely fibre.

Lewis and i have also decided that is time to get a new bed. We took a trip to Ikea on Monday to look at their selection and after much lying down we settled on one we liked then we had to choose a mattress. I didn't realise there was so much choice so more lying down followed and we eventually settled on a mattress we both like. Yippee! We are going to go next Friday to buy it so i can't wait, the only problem is we will have to build it before we can go to sleep in it.

On the knitting front i am knitting a pair of socks for Lewis. They are knit on impossibly tiny needles and are therefore going to take me an age, i am going to try not to pick up any other project until i am finished them as poor Lewis has been asking for socks for a long time. He will get them one day...
